Let’s Talk Protein & Pizza

We asked Vinny the question every Vegan and Vegetarian wish they had a dollar for –

“What do you do for protein?”

 Lets Talk Protein: What makes you feel good what makes you feel bloated and full and like you cant move.”

I am pretty Plant Based these days getting my proteins from Nuts Seeds Beans & Vegetables. Yup Vegetables! Remember PopEye. 5 grams of protein in 1 cup of sautéed or boiled spinach!

If I get a craving for fish, I make sure it is fresh caught and not from a fish farm. If I get a craving for red meat I make sure it is grass-fed. GMO corn is quite scary.

Instead of wheat breads I use grains like rice, oats, or amaranth!

Or I make my own Quinoa Pizza dough!

3/4 cup of quinoa sprouted (soaked) in water over night, at least 8 hours. Drain and add to a food processor, with 1/4 cup of water and a pinch of salt. Blend on high till it’s a smooth batter. 2 – 3 minutes

Heat cast iron skillet, or cake pan, in the oven at 450 for 10 minutes.

Pour batter in and smooth with spatula. *Even and thin like a pizza crust.

Bake for 20 minutes, then flip and bake another 10 minutes

Add your sauce and toppings. Pop back in the oven so things get to know each other and settle in!
