I didn’t grow up in Coney, but my husband did! In 2003, I had moved back to the NY area after living in Philly for 15 years. After our first date (internet dating – yeah)! it was obvious that we had to get to know each other better.

As I fell in love with Jonathan, I also fell in love with Brooklyn. He would take us all over, and showed me every corner. He knows it like the back of his hand. I love hearing his stories about growing up in Coney Island. After meeting all of his friends, I starting referring to it as ‘Planet Coney’.

We still go to see his mom there and take our daughter to the aquarium and beach in the summers. We also never miss a chance to go to Nathans and the boardwalk – and our little one has lots of Lola Star tees that she rocks even in winter!
