We are looking for donations of:

nonperishable goods, individually wrapped sandwiches, toilet paper, baby formula, diapers, blankets, gloves, hats, scarves, coats, cleaning supplies, outerwear and baby clothes.

 

MONETARY DONATIONS: 

Coney Recovers is accepting cash contributions to help Coney residents, businesses, and community groups in their time of need.  100 percent of these funds will go to storm relief and recovery efforts.is an initiative of Alliance for Coney Island, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting “the People’s Playground” and improving quality of life for the entire Coney Island community.

VOLUNTEER

DAILY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

No RSVP required- just show upat any of these sites and ask what work can be done

volunteers are needed but we cannot gaurentee what tasks you'll be assigned to

If you plan on volunteering, we suggest that you:

  • Dress warmly, wear sturdy footwear or boots, and bring snacks & water for yourself for the day.

Donation requests for distribution to residents:

  • Household cleaning supplies 
  • Blankets
  • Flashlights and batteries
  • Canned or nonperishable goods
  • Plastic bags / shopping bags
  • Toilet paper and toiletries
  • Baby items (especially diapers; no clothes, please)
  • Heavy-duty contractor trash bags and other outdoor clean-up supplies 

Please note that bathroom access on site will be limited.  Subway service to Coney Island has been fully restored - check the MTA website for directions.

 

VOLUNTEER AT THESE LOCATIONS:


RELIEF VILLAGE- MCU PARK PARKING LOT Located at 904 Surf Avenue.  Volunteers will assist with on-site tasks associated with the ongoing distribution of food, clothing, and supplies to Coney residents.  Volunteers are especially needed to help with setting up the site in the morning (8:30 am onward) and breaking it down in the late afternoon (around 3 pm).  Just come to the parking lot and identify yourself to someone in an orange or yellow vest.
