300 The Movie, A Classic in the Making

There is more to sexy abs than meets the eye…. 300 the movie is not just about sexy and well trimmed abs and good looking people in a classically styled costumes, it is another way to recapture the film buffs’ and the pop generation interest in classical Greece and a new approach at the glorious history of the Greeks, Spartans and the Persians all in one piece.

300 the movie brings the life the graphic novel of Frank Miller which put in the picture the tale of the Battle of Thermopylae where the King Leonidas of Sparta, together with his 300 men considered to be the elite military force of the King valiantly fought side by side against the powerful and much larger Persian army led by King Xerxes. The battle is about one of the famous last stand in history, which involves betrayal of trust and the courageous attempt of the 300 heroic men to get hold of more time so that the rest of the forces of the Greeks who were not yet conquered to prepare sufficiently and eventually face the enormous and powerful Persian army.

Notwithstanding the graphic battle string and some nudity, this action/drama, this Snyder film gained numerous awards and nominations from a variety of award giving bodies. This is indeed unmistakable by means of the classically styled costumes and state of the art backgrounds, coupled with good performances led by Gerard Butler, Lena Headey and Rodrigo Santoro, as well as stunning fight scenes and a well crafted screenplay by Zack Snyder and Kurt Johnstad. 300 the movie reportedly earned more than two-hundred ten million dollars in the US alone and due to its success, its official website added more details regarding the production and behind the scenes of the movie. Likewise, the soundtrack and DVD were released early 2007. Add to these, press reviews and controversies further enhance the mystique of the film.

So upon seeing 300 the movie, we can now safely say that a good story line together with beauty and physique can make you learn something in an otherwise monotonous event, positively a better way to entice this generation to discover and ascertain what they have read in their text books.
